The Impact

MS Society SA & NT

Established in 1964, the MS Society SA & NT is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation providing vital support and services to people living with MS across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

In 2025, MSWA stepped in to support MS Society SA & NT and now operates as a singular organisation, strengthening support for people living with MS across Australia.

Together with MSWA, the MS Society SA & NT is part of a broader not-for-profit organisation committed to delivering practical, coordinated care for people living with MS, while also supporting advocacy and research.

Why we fundraise

Every lap you swim and every dollar you raise helps ensure people living with multiple sclerosis can access the support they need, when they need it most.

Funds raised through the MS Mighty Swim will help support people with MS across SA and NT to live well, through services like nursing, speech therapy, dietetics and more.

Together, we're creating a future where no one faces MS alone.

Why is MSWA, a WA organisation, now running our SA event?

MSWA and MS Society SA & NT have come together and now operate as one organisation across WA, SA and NT. Importantly, there is still a local team, local services and established relationships here in SA and NT, now supported by MSWA's broader resources and experience.

For the MS Mighty Swim, we see our role as helping protect and support a community event that already means a great deal to people in South Australia.

Will MSWA change everything about the event?

No – we recognise the MS Mighty Swim has a strong identity and a 20-year history. Our approach is to build on what participants already love about the event.

There may naturally be some evolution as we plan its return, but we want that process to be informed by the people who know and support the event.

The heart of the MS Mighty Swim is bringing people together in support of the MS community – that will not change.

Does the money stay in SA and NT?

Yes. Funds raised in SA and NT stay in SA and NT to support people living with MS in those communities. This helps ensure services and support are available for people living with MS and other neurological conditions in these regions.
